===Live timing===
It's not ready to run on the server yet, I'll get to it eventually™.

How do I host something on the ovg server box?

kunos slop

Use one of the available AC servers, drop the server config in the files and restart the server. I'd recommend SFTP for acd uploads if you want those. Live timing is still a pain in the anus to setup so ask an adult if you need it.

godMotor games

This applies to all 3 currently up, rFactor, rFactor 2 and rFactor, Brazil

  1. Get an SFTP client like WinSCP
  2. Go to the settings tab of the server panel, then click Launch SFTP (or copy the parameters to your client)
  3. Download the DedicatedServer player folder from UserData and squirt it to your install
    • for rFactor 2 it's just one player, I recommend using a Lite copy of the game to not fuck with your own settings
  4. Launch the dedicated server on your PC, select the DedicatedServer player, and fully configure the server. Go until the track is loaded then exit the server.
  5. Check in DedicatedServer.plr that Game Description is set to the correct rfm/srs
  6. Upload the DedicatedServer player folder to the server
  7. Upload the content you want
    • rFactor and AMS come with default content as they're Steam installs
    • rF2 comes with fuck all and since server doesn't support ModMgr you have to upload files from Installed and Manifests
  8. Restart the server

Note: there is no console feedback for when the server is working, this is a limitation of those games being made in 2005 for Windows, the only log file you'll have is the trusty trace.txt.

adding more Trackmania content

tracks

  1. Slap the gbx files in GameData/Tracks/Challenges/<subfolder>
  2. Create a matching match settings file to squirt in GameData/Tracks/MatchSettings or edit the existing ovg one to add more tracks
    • If a new match settings file is used, change the startup parameters
  3. Restart the server

music

  1. Download your sick ass songs, if you use yt-dlp try the --embed-metadata flag to add song title and artist and shit to the file, ffmpeg will keep them in encoding and they'll show in game
  2. Encode your sick ass songs to ogg, I used 128k
  3. Add the song title to xaseco/musicserver.xml song_files
  4. Upload the song to GameData/Music
  5. Restart the server

I wanna add another game

Check if an egg exists, and if it does triple check how many extra ports the server uses and add as many allocations to your server as needed and update ports. If a port isn't listed in the allocations dropdown, it is not open on the box and it will not work.
